Last year more than 1,915 people contacted the Epilepsy Foundation. Some had just learnt they, or someone they love, has epilepsy. Others have lived with this condition for years. They are people from all walks of life – different ages, cultures, backgrounds.

They all have one thing in common. They are grateful for YOU.

You are the reason every person who contacted us was able to receive the very best support, information and care, including but not limited to:

  • Receiving detailed Epilepsy Management Plans and Emergency Medication Plans so family members, carers and friends know what to do in the event of a seizure;

  • Being matched to a member of our Epilepsy Support team so they have one point of contact who will help them learn how to better manage their epilepsy, navigate the medical and specialist healthcare systems, along with greater government and community supports;

  • Accessing our education and training programs such as Seizure First Aid, Epilepsy Smart Schools and Epilepsy Workplace so colleagues, staff and community members know how to keep someone safe during a seizure;

  • Feeling safe, connected and accepted by being part of our epilepsy community where we encourage people to talk openly about living with the impact of epilepsy.

We cannot deliver the best support, information and care without you. As we welcome the new year, we look forward to your continued support so we can assist many more people living with epilepsy in 2023. Thank you for being their friend.
